“A Young Lion with an Old Soul” Brian Clancy is a freelance saxophone/woodwind player and educator in Long Beach, California. A native of the lone star-state, Brian attended the University of North Texas where he spent 3 years in the One O'clock Lab Band, a dream he had since his early years on the horn. He had the opportunity to record on 3 albums, including “Lab 2009” which was nominated for 2 Grammys. Before relocating to California, Brian released his debut album as a leader “Introducing Brian Clancy.”

His career as a jazz musician has led him to perform with Kurt Elling, The Bill Holman Big Band, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Gilbert Castellanos and Eric Reed. He can also be heard on recordings by Michael Bublé, Mary Stallings and the Clare Fischer Big Band led by Brent Fischer, of which he is a current member.

As a woodwind player, Brian enjoys playing everything from piccolo to alto flute, clarinet and all the saxophones in every setting from musical theatre “pits” to Disneyland and of course, the recording studio.

When leading his own group, Brian strives to blend his love for the elements of the jazz tradition, melody and swing, with the ever-youthful spirit of improvisation and spontaneous creativity!
