Melissa Hasin
Melissa Hasin is a virtuoso cellist celebrated for her improvisational brilliance, often entering recording sessions without charts and crafting spontaneous, expressive parts that elevate any track. She has collaborated with music icons such as Tori Amos, No Doubt, The Smithereens, Victoria Williams, and Steve Wynn—most famously writing the string arrangements for No Doubt’s hit “Don't Speak.”
A versatile performer, Hasin’s career spans symphonies, theater productions, jazz and rock bands, and film scores. In 1985, she released Cellistic Visions, a fully improvised new age album showcasing her freeform creativity.
