Mindy Park is currently a third-year undergraduate student of Ronald Leonard at the Colburn Conservatory of Music.
Ms. Park has received numerous awards including third prize at the 2010 Corpus Christi International Competition, the 2009 Aspen Music Festival Low Strings Competition, the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) National Solo Competition, the Kishwaukee Symphony Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Competition, the Sejong Cultural Society Music Competition, the Society of American Musicians Solo Competition, the Harvey E. Mittenthal Chair Scholarship from the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, the Walgreen’s National Concerto Competition, and the Nancy Fuqua Young Artists Memorial Competition. Ms. Park was a winner in music of the 2008 National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. She has appeared with the Aspen Concert Orchestra, the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra, the Midwest Young Artists Symphony Orchestra, the William Fremd Symphony Orchestra, and the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been featured on Chicago WFMT 98.7’s Introductions series and Impromtu series, and live on ABC7 Chicago News. In 2007, she was featured soloist on NPR’s “From the Top” radio program at Chicago’s own Ravinia.
As a chamber musician, Ms. Park won first prizes at the Rembrandt Chamber Players Competition, the St. Paul String Quartet Competition, and the silver medal at the 2008 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 2008, she and her quartet were filmed to feature in the PBS “From the Top: Live at Carnegie Hall” television series.
