Kate Reid is a working jazz singer and pianist, “known and loved by hipsters and insiders around the world for her impeccable sense of phrasing and unique sound”. Kate creates a very intimate musical experience with her quartet and puts a fresh spin on the great American songbook. Appearing regularly with her quartet at jazz venues all over the Los Angeles area, she is in demand by audiences for her swing style and delivery of great jazz standard lyrics. She has worked with many great musicians including guitarists Ron Eschete and Larry Koonse, drummer Roy McCurdy, tenor saxophonist Ernie Watts, pianist Otmaro Ruiz, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Ira Sullivan, and Ron Eschete. Dr. Kate Reid is on the music faculty at Cypress College in Cypress, California and currently serves as chair of the music department as well as head of the applied music and jazz programs.
