The Brombies are a Los Angeles based group who are prominent in the Southern California recording and bluegrass scene and perform at all major western Bluegrass festivals and concerts.

Praised for their vocal harmonies and instrumentals, The Brombies strive to present their award-winning original songs and play music that lifts the spirits of the audience. The Brombies talent and expertise has defined them as an up-and-coming California band whose star is shining brightly.  A local LA writer says, “The Brombies [are] a bluegrass quartet of such power and versatility it’s amazing to find them this far from Nashville.”

These seasoned performers travel all over the western states playing at various bluegrass festivals. The band places a lot of emphasis on the vocal harmonies and instrumentals, but their primary goal is to present their original songs and to play some music that might lift the spirits of the audience for that brief time they are there.

The band consists of :
Jo Ellen Doering - guitar & vocals
George Doering -mandolin & vocals
Bill Bryson - bass & vocals
John Plotnik - banjo & dobro
Dennis Fetchit - fiddle.

In April of 2012 Jo Ellen and George were finalists in the Chris Austin Song Contest at Merlefest, they've also been chosen for that contest in 2010, 2009 and 2007. In September of 2011 their CD, "From The Piney Hills" was chosen as one of the very few that are reviewed in the Bluegrass Unlimited magazine
