Jeff Cogan, classical guitarist and Gerry Long, clarinetist.
After completing his education at California State University, Northridge, Jeff Cogan built a career in performing and teaching the guitar. While still a student he was invited to perform for the great Spanish Maestro of the guitar, Andres Segovia in an exclusive master class. After this performance Mr. Cogan was invited by Segovia to Geneva, Switzerland to perform in another class.
Since then Mr. Cogan has performed around the USA and Europe. His work on the faculty at Chapman University has won glowing praise for both himself and his students.
Gerry Long has a doctorate in clarinet performance from the Eastman School of Music, extensive orchestral and chamber music experience as clarinetist, and a number of publications of his arrangements for chamber music and orchestra, including the full orchestral score for the musical “Hair” published by Robbins Music.
His instrumental conducting book, “The Conductor’s Workshop” (McGraw Hill) has been used as a conducting textbook since 1975. He also served as musical director for the Disney on Parade Show, (NBC and Disney sponsored) which toured 55 cities in North American in the mid 70s.
Cogan and Clarinetist Gerry Long have performed many concerts together including performances for Chapman University and Orange Coast College.
