Jazz Wednesdays Summer continues to bring top talent to Laguna Beach beginning June 22 at the Rose Garden of Hotel Laguna. A delightful space that offers personal service with a menu of tempting food and beverages, the Rose Garden provides limited seating so early ticket buying is recommended.

Tickets are "premium" seats (table seating) for $25 and "regular" seats (sides and rear) for $20 and all seats are assigned by date of purchase. Led by versatile guitarist Will Brahm, his group Homenaje means “homage” in Spanish. Incorporating heavy influences of Cuban and African music, as well as jazz, classical, and folk, they strive to bring together different cultures and people through their music. Based in Los Angeles, the group draws from the infinite cultural influences all around them.

“A Tribute to Barney, Ray, and Shelly"
Graham Dechter, Katie Thiroux and Matt Witek pay tribute to jazz icons Barney Kessel, Ray Brown, and Shelly Manne. The trio that Kessel, Brown, and Manne formed, known as “The Poll-Winners Trio”, set the standard for the guitar/bass/drums format. Throughout the evening Dechter, Thiroux and Witek will play selections as performed by the “Poll-Winners”, as well as brand new arrangements inspired by those three legendary gentleman.

Driven by an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, classical, Afro Cuban and world rhythms, TIZER is a multi-cultural band led by Boulder, CO native, keyboardist/composer Lao Tizer. Establishing themselves in the contemporary jazz world over the last several years, TIZER has spurred comparisons of a modern twist to the 70s and early 80s heyday of jazz fusion, when trailblazing ensembles like Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report set the aesthetic standard.



August 17th, 2016 - Mediterranean/Latin/Gypsy/Afro-Brazilian Jazz
  Besos de Coco with special guest Robert Dove on winds
San Diego-based innovative and eclectic chamber group, Besos de Coco, is stirring up a great deal of excitement with their groundwork performances in Southern California. Tap-dancer Claudia Gomez Vorce, double-bassist Evona Wascinski, and classical guitarist/vocalist Lorraine Castellanos formed the trio in August 2011 when the musically magnetic connection was soon recognized. Individually, each of the three women are compelling and masterful artists in their particular musical disciplines. Collectively, Besos de Coco presents stunning musical performances destined for the world to experience. The merging of talents and influences from each of these women results in a fresh and intense sound that maintains its roots in the romantic music of the old-world Mediterranean, Latin American, and Jazz traditions.

“From Louie to Frank: Bending The Standard” feat. Dave Damiani and The Instigators with special guest Bijon Watson on trumpet.

Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra were two of the greatest ambassadors of the American Songbook. They performed worldwide, blurring color lines, and introducing millions to the popular music of America each in their own distinctive style. Dave Damiani and the Instigators team up with trumpeter Bijon Watson to perform their fresh classic jazz arrangements of the popular music of the era and “Bending The Standard”.
