Paul Anthony Romero enjoys an award-winning career as both a classical pianist and a composer. Romero is the winner of numerous international piano competitions including the Paris and the Van Cliburn piano competitions.
Famed music critic Wayne Lee Gay of the Dallas-Fort Worth Star Telegram recently wrote “Romero evoked the aura of the golden age of the virtuoso, when Liszt and his cohorts crisscrossed Europe and the United States, presenting solo recitals of transcriptions, monumental showpieces and their original music to culture-hungry audiences….The thunderous opening chords announced Romero as a fearless virtuoso of the old school, an impression he continued to reinforce in the long series of fancy elaborations….ranging from delicate passage work to roaring octaves.”
Romero performs regularly throughout the United States and Europe. Highlights from 2005 included concerts at the Mexican Embassy in Wash. D.C., The Palace of the Amerique-Francais Institute in Paris and at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Romero’s upcoming¬†performances will include appearances in Paris, Buenos Aires,¬†Berlin, Moscow and Carnegie Hall, as well as a Rachmaninoff performance at Disney Hall in April.
